Year 3
Miss Edge & Miss Garnett
Ready for Superhero Maths?
Use the Wonder Woman timer, and choose a superhero to test yourself over a set period of time. To truly be a hero, try to answer all questions in less than 5 minutes. Superheroes can do it in 4! However, even managing to get all the questions correct on your own in any time limit is a success. Good luck!

YEAR THREE
Curriculum
Summer Term English:
This term, our class text will be The Ancient Egyptian Sleepover by Stephen Davies. The story follows the exciting adventures of a boy named Mo who wins a sleepover in a museum.
Through this book children will develop their reading, writing and discussion skills, while creating exciting and imaginative narratives. We will also write persuasive letters, autobiographies, as well as take part in lively discussions and debates.
Alongside this, we will explore a range of poetry, developing our appreciation and understanding of different structures and styles.
Summer Term Maths:
In Maths, Year 3 will build confidence in multiplication and division before moving onto 2D and 3D shapes and solving real-life problems. Later in the term, they will explore measurement, statistics and time, while continuing to practise their 3, 4 and 8 times tables.
They will use practical resources to support their understanding and apply their learning to real-life contexts, helping them see how maths is used every day!
Summer Term Science:
In Science, We’ll be learning all about plants!
We will identify and describe the different parts of a plant and explore what plants need to survive and stay healthy. We will also carry out exciting experiments to investigate how water is transported through plants, helping us to understand how they grow and function.
We will plant our own flowers and watch how they grow and change over time, observing and recording our results.
Summer Term History: Ancient Egypt
In History this term, our learning will journey back in time to explore the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt!
We will discover what daily life was like, investigate a range of intriguing artefacts and uncover the mysteries of Egyptian writing, comparing it to our own.
Linking with Geography, we will locate Egypt on a map, explore the incredible pyramids and learn why they were so important in the past. We will use arial maps and photographs to locate and study Egypt, developing our map-reading and fieldwork skills.
